D89 Soccer League

Our Mission

The New District 89 Soccer League aims to bring together Arbor View, Briar Glen, Park View, and Westfield Elementary Schools to create a recreational soccer league that focuses on player growth and development in an environment with friends, classmates, and community support.  


Teams will be formed by school and will play at grade level.  All games and practices will be held at Glen Crest Middle School.  All skill levels are welcome.  

During the inaugural season, teams will be grouped in Pre-K and Kindergarten, 1st/2nd Grade, and 3rd/4th/5th Grades.  


The League will be hosted and organized through the Synergy SC Foundation.  This is a 501(c)3 charitable organization aimed at improving access to soccer and improving facilities in the local community.

Spring 2026 Registration

Spring 2026 Details:

1. Begins April 7th.  First games will be April 11th.  (No games Memorial Day Weekend)

2. Ends June 6th.  

3. 9 weeks of practice.  8 weeks of games.

District 89 Soccer League – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. What is the District 89 Soccer League?
The District 89 Soccer League is a new soccer league designed to bring together students from Arbor View, Briar Glen, Park View, and Westfield Elementary Schools. It focuses on player growth and development in a fun, community-centered environment.

2. Who can participate?
All students enrolled in District 89 schools are eligible to participate. Players will be grouped into teams based on grade and school.  Kids that will attend in the future, or home-schooled and private-schooled children that live in the district.

3. What grade levels are included?
For the inaugural season, the league will include the following age groups:

  • Pre-K & Kindergarten
  • 1st & 2nd Grade
  • 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grades

4. Do players need to have prior soccer experience?
No experience is necessary. ALL skill levels are welcome to join!

5. Where will games and practices take place?
All practices and games will be held at Glen Crest Middle School.

6. How are teams formed?
Teams will be formed by grade level and school, allowing kids to play with friends and classmates.

7. Who is organizing the league?
The league is hosted and organized by the Synergy SC Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to expanding access to soccer and enhancing local facilities.

8. Is there a cost to participate?
The registration cost is $90/player.  Each game shirt is also $10.  Each player will need a navy and green shirt.

9. Are you looking for volunteers?
Yes! We are actively seeking volunteer coaches to help support and organize teams. If you're interested in coaching, please contact George Balev at George@synergysoccerclub.com or call 847.532.8663.

10. How do I register my child?
You can register your child online in the gotsport platform following the link at the top of the page.

11. What Equipment is needed?

All players are required to wear shin guards.  Cleats are encouraged, but not required.  Game day shirts can be purchased at a pre-sale before the season starts and will be available each week at the fields.  Players will be required to dress appropriately for the weather conditions.  Players are encouraged to bring their own ball with their name on it in the correct size.  Pre-K through 2nd grade will use a size 3 ball.  3rd grade and older will use a size 4 ball.  

D89 League Info

The District 89 recreational soccer league will be open to all students in District 89.  They will be grouped in teams by grade and school.  Our aim is to create a fun environment where players can play with friends and learn to love the game.
